The time is the present. The old soviet union is collapsing and becoming unstable. The main struggle is to control the Typhoon class submarines, the world’s largest and most lethal fleet that is armed with the most advanced nuclear weapons capable of destroying any target on earth. The US navy is worried of the Typhoons capabilities and sends a single submarine the USS Reno under the command of “Plutonium Jack” Guuner to spy on the Typhoons, their mission changes drastically when a Typhoon suddenly surfaces in the middle of the white sea and fires a test missile armed with a dummy warhead. The conflict is between admiral deminov, who tries to seize control of the Typhoons, and vice admiral zenko, inventor of the Typhoons that would do anything to stop deminov. Gunner and his crew watch from the side as the two enormous submarines fight each other in a life or death battle, they have to decide who is their real enemy
